Coconuts are one of my favorite fruits! Not only do they taste good and smell good but they are very good for you too. The Pacific Islanders believed that it was the cure for all illnesses, which is why the palm tree (from which the coconuts are grown) is known as 'The Tree of Life'. Eating coconuts are excellent for your immunity and also excellent for keeping you young and beautiful! And believe it or not, coconuts help develop strong healthy bones and teeth. It's antioxidant properties help slow down the aging process by protecting the body from harmful free radicals. When coconut oil is applied to the skin, it helps the skin stay smooth and moisturized! Coconut oil is also known to treat skin disorders such as eczema, psorisis and dermatitis. If your hair is dried out and feels like its thinning out, coconut oil is also a great treatment. It becomes moist, radiant and shiny! It's a great alternative for a leave-in-conditioner...
Here's the recipe for this summer coconut drink! My healthier version of a pina colada. :)
1 cup Coconut Water
1 shot Rum *or however strong you prefer ;)
1 lime wedge/slice
3/4 cup of pinapple juice
*Add ice or you can blend with ice to make it slushie.
