Summer is now officially over! September to me always feels like a second new year. It's a great time to refresh and organize. Not sure why it is, but whenever September sneaks in I get this queasy feeling, as if someone just punched me in the stomach! With all the summer sun my hair soaked in, I thought it may be a good time to give my hair a 'protein pick-me-up'!
What you'll need:
2 cups of yogurt (depends on how long or thick your hair is, my hair is both!)
1 egg
2 tbs of coconut oil
2/3 cup of milk
1 shower cap
1 large comb
1 towel
1 medium bowl
1 fork/whisk
Add the yogurt, egg, coconut oil and milk into the bowl until it is blended well. Make sure you do this in the bath tub, because it will get messy! Flip your hair forward, and pour a little at a time onto your hair (focusing on your ends). Comb it through, so that it is evenly distributed. When you're done applying the mask, pull your hair into a bun and put on your shower cap! Wait for about 30 minutes and then rinse off with cool water first (so the egg doesn't cook in your hair!). After the rinse go ahead and continue with shampoo and conditioner.
Your hair is made of proteins, which are necessary for tissue growth and repair. Yogurt can help reverse hair damage caused by product build up and air pollution. The lactic acid in yogurt gently strips away dirt while the milk fat moisturizes. Eggs can be a great source of protein for your hair. The yolk is rich in fats and proteins which is extremely moisturizing. The whites contain bacteria eating enzymes that cleanse hair and scalp from unwanted oils. For normal hair use whole egg to condition; use just yolks to moisturize dry, brittle hair; and use just whites to treat oily hair. Coconut oil is rich in protein, very high in fats, making it great for moisturizing and strengthening. Prevents hair shedding and breakage. Milk contains a unique blend of natural fats, protein, vitamins, and minerals that have the ability to strengthen and fortify cells, and this includes hair cells.
You'll feel the difference right away, much smoother and shinier hair!
I hope this helped!

Also, I tried this and accidentally washed with warmer water, it left cooked egg in my hair, my hair looks great though
