Now that Thanksgiving (Canadian version) has past us by, Halloween is just around the corner! Halloween is just not the same without pumpkins...either it be for baking, carving or for decorating! Well, with all that said, I'm here to introduce to you...the 'Smashing Pumpkin Mask For Zits'! Did you know pumpkins are great for you skin, especially if have acne-prone skin?
Now, this method is very multifunctional! You get to enjoy the carving, a tasty snack and a little beauty treatment...all from one pumpkin! Alright, Let's get started!
What you'll need:
1 cup of pumpkin insides (without seeds)
2 tbsps of yogurt
2 tbsps of honey
2 tsps of cinnamon
1 blender
1 makeup brush/cotton pad
1 small bowl
When I'm cleaning out the insides of the pumpkin, I make sure to save it in a bowl on the side. I seperate the seeds from the insides and lay them on a baking tray to cook for a snack later! ;) Bake the seeds at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes or when it turns golden brown. Sprinkle a pinch of salt when out of the oven. Delicious snack!
Add all the ingredients in the blender for about 15 seconds - it doesn't need much! Take either a brush or a cotton pad to apply the mask all over your face. Don't forget your neck too! Keep it on for 10-15 minutes, then wash off with luke warm water. Give a final cold water splash - to close your pores!
Pumpkins are high in vitamin A and C, which help heal your skin and allow it to glow! The enzymes in pumpkins help get rid of dry, dead skin and allow the vitamins do their work hydrating and repairing. The plain yogurt contains live and active cultures that will kill bacteria and unclog pores, while honey helps soothe acne-prone skin. I like to add cinnamon, to wake up my skin and create more of a glow. Make sure you test a small patch of skin on the inside of your arm!
Enjoy!
