People show their love in many different ways, but the classic strawberries, chocolate and champagne never gets old!
I remember a couple of V-Days ago, Elie bought me a bouquet of dark chocolate dipped strawberries, drizzled with white chocolate! My favorite! So this year I thought I'd make him something special...my own version. Dark chocolate dipped strawberries, sprinkled with crushed Skor bar! Yum! Now to pair this off, how about strawberry champagne? Sound good? Let's get started.
What you'll need:
Box of strawberries
70% dark chocolate (or whatever is your preference)
Skor chocolate bar (you can also use roasted peanuts, almonds, pecans...)
Mortar & pestle
Champagne
*optional: I used skewer sticks as rose stems and taped fallen rose leaves petals to give a more realistic look of a rose! ;)
For chocolate dipped strawberry roses: Make sure to wash and pat dry the strawberries. Break up pieces of the dark chocolate and place them into a bowl. You can either use a double boiler or you can pop them into the microwave for about a minute. Place a sheet of wax or parchment paper over a tray and lay the dipped strawberries. I didn't do this step and lost all the chocolate on the back! Before it dries, quickly sprinkle the crush Skor bar over. Place the tray into the fridge to cool and harden.
For champagne: Wash and cut the tops of a handful of strawberries, throw them into the blender. Blend until they are nicely pureed. You can add a teaspoon of sugar if you'd like. Pour 1/3 of it into the glass and pour 2/3 of it with champagne!
And there you have it!
If you have left over strawberries...you can pamper yourself with a Strawberry Face Mask!
Enjoy & have a wonderful Valentines Day!
Love,
